Emmett was a fence and smuggler of the Human male variety. He conducted his business close to the Imperial Outpost on the planet of Lok. His activities took place during the Galactic Civil War. He lived in a humble tent some distance from the Galactic Empire's base during this time.
In the video game Star Wars Galaxies, which was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts until it shut down on December 15, 2011, Emmett was a non-player character. The game was released in 2003. Emmett's inclusion in the game coincided with the introduction of smuggling missions in the "Chapter 3" update, which went live on September 27, 2006.
