Darklighter, Part 3: Empire 12 is the twelfth installment of the Star Wars: Empire comic book series. The storyline in this issue provides a new version of the events from X-Wing Rogue Squadron ½. Dark Horse Comics released it on October 22, 2003.
Following the events of the mutiny aboard the Rand Ecliptic, Biggs Darklighter and the group he travels with successfully establish communication with the Rebel Alliance. The Rebellion is in dire need of capable pilots such as Biggs and his fellow travelers; however, combating the Empire is a challenge given the obsolete starfighters at their disposal.
A scheme is devised to "acquire" a number of X-wings from the Empire. Until the Rebels can get their hands on these advanced fighters, they must rely on bravery, fortune, and the expertise of pilots like Biggs Darklighter...
