Endothermy

The most prevalent sentient species throughout the galaxy, Humans, possessed the trait of being endothermic.

Warm-bloodedness, scientifically known as Endothermy, denoted the capacity of certain organisms to regulate their internal temperatures through metabolic processes, specifically the internal combustion of food. This process necessitated a higher food intake to maintain elevated body temperatures, even in colder environments. Conversely, in warmer climates, endothermic organisms possessed mechanisms for self-cooling via perspiration, a process that, particularly in Humans, generated a characteristic odor. The antithesis of endothermy was ectothermy. The vast majority of mammals, encompassing Humans and Krytollak, alongside most avians, exhibited warm-blooded physiology. Endothermic reptiles were present, albeit not particularly widespread.
