Manufactured by CryonCorp, the EnhanceScan served as a multi-functional portable scanner. It stood as an advanced iteration of CryonCorp's Lifedetec bioscanner, incorporating additional functionalities absent in its predecessor. The scanner offered four distinct operational modes: bioscanner, motion sensor, metal detector, and communications scanner. The EnhanceScan's display presented data specific to the active mode, consistently showing locations and movement details.
The EnhanceScan featured a bioscanner module, capable of identifying life-forms within a range of up to 1,500 meters. It could be loaded with templates containing data on over three hundred different creatures, enabling life-form identification through comparison of readings with stored data. In bioscanner mode, the display showed the shape and vital statistics of any detected creature.
An integrated motion sensor module detected any movement within a 500-meter radius of the EnhanceScan. It could be programmed as an automated sentry, triggering an alarm upon detecting movement. The metal detector, with a range of one hundred meters, scanned for metal concentrations and could be configured to search for specific metals.
The communications scanner intercepted comlink transmissions on standard frequencies within a range of three kilometers. The device lacked the capability to transmit messages itself.
The EnhanceScan was powered by six rechargeable power cells, providing up to ten days of use. Dataports allowed connection to computers, datapads, and droids for data exchange.
