Erilnar

Erilnar, a planet situated within the Centrality region of the Outer Rim Territories, held the position of capital for the Centrality. This world was characterized by an abundance of three hundred thousand lakes across its surface, mandating that transportation systems operate beneath the water. Sometime during the reign of the Galactic Empire, a terrorist attack on Erilnar devastated a significant portion of the planet's monorail infrastructure, leading to a million casualties. Kulbart Zamoon, an Erilnar native, attributed blame to the Empire for their inaction following the assault, prompting him to align himself with the Rebel Alliance.

Description

Erilnar, a terrestrial planet, was found in the Erilnar system, which itself resided within the Centrality sector of the Slice area of the Outer Rim Territories. The Cadma Conduit hyperlane provided a connection to both the Oseon and Scillal systems. Erilnar's land was fragmented by a vast number of lakes, totaling three hundred thousand, which contrasted greatly with Coruscant, the galactic capital that was a city-covered world. This unique geography necessitated that Erilnar's transport networks, including its monorail system, function underwater.

History

Erilnar eventually rose to prominence as the primary world of the Centrality, a planetary coalition formed around 3350 BBY. On Erilnar, the Human species held considerable power within the Centrality's governing body, which was often subtly influenced by Hutts operating from nearby Hutt Space.

During the time the Galactic Empire was in power, specifically during its reign, Erilnar was the original homeworld of the Human named Kulbart Zamoon. It was during this era that a terrorist incident, one of several that occurred on Erilnar, resulted in the destruction of much of the planet's monorail network and claimed the lives of one million individuals. The Empire, which the Centrality was loosely allied with, did not intervene after the attack, so Zamoon held them responsible and therefore joined the Rebel Alliance, their adversaries.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of Erilnar appeared in "A Campaign Guide to the Centrality," an article penned by Michael Kogge and featured in Star Wars Gamer 5, which was released on July 24, 2001. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, located Erilnar within grid square T-8.
