Escape Bay 14
Escape Bay 14 was situated on the Byrt, a passenger liner utilized as a civilian transport during the Yuuzhan Vong War era.
History
During the Battle of Coruscant, a key engagement in the conflict, Yuuzhan Vong operatives attempted to kidnap the young Ben Skywalker. To protect him, his droid protector, C-3PO, urgently brought him aboard the Byrt to ensure his safety. While being chased through the passenger liner by the Yuuzhan Vong, C-3PO sought refuge with the infant in Escape Bay 14 while awaiting assistance. Viqi Shesh, a senator from the New Republic allied with the Yuuzhan Vong, discovered C-3PO. The droid then concealed Skywalker inside a storage locker and proceeded toward one of the bay's escape pods. Utilizing his capabilities as a protocol droid, he replicated the sound of a crying Human infant from within the escape pod. This ruse lured Shesh and the Yuuzhan Vong into the escape pod. Subsequently, C-3PO was compelled to exit the escape pod, after which he launched it and recovered Skywalker from his hiding place in the locker.
