Security Police

The Espos, short for Security Police, and also called Boys-in-brown in Deal-slang, comprised the Ground Forces officers of the Corporate Sector Authority tasked with law enforcement. Smugglers often used "Espo" as slang when referring to members of this organization.

Description

Throughout the Corporate Sector, Espos were notorious for their brutality. Their distinctive brown uniforms and KZZ riot armor set them apart. Equipped with riot guns, Merr-Sonn stun batons, and transparisteel riot shields, they were infamous for employing excessive, sometimes deadly, force against rioters and other "disobedient" individuals, occasionally resorting to severe interrogative tactics. The widespread use of the FC-1 flechette launcher was also a hallmark of their methods. Espos also had access to more powerful arms, including mortars and walkers. Those found guilty of political offenses within the Corporate Sector were condemned to serve time at Stars' End, a clandestine prison.

History

On the Colonies planet Shelkonwa, the Emperor's Hand Mara Jade once concealed herself behind a wall to avoid detection by two members of the Security Police.
