Essie was the moniker Jyn Erso used for an SE-2 worker droid possessing masculine programming. This droid was employed on Galen Erso's farm, where he served as a lookout, constantly scanning the horizon for potential threats. Although designed for basic labor droid tasks, Essie exhibited a particularly strong sense of devotion. In 13 BBY, he sounded the alarm to the Erso family upon observing Director Orson Krennic's Imperial shuttle nearing their residence.
