In a desperate effort to reclaim their missing eggs, these birds commonly confused the eyes of humanoids with their stolen offspring. Consequently, they would use their sharp talons to pluck out the eyeballs of those they perceived as egg thieves. One notable victim of this unfortunate misidentification was the clumsy Abyssin cyclops giant named Gondry.
