The complete and unabridged audio rendition of Fate of the Jedi: Conviction, a Legends novel bearing the same title and penned by Aaron Allston, is available for listening. Marc Thompson lent his voice to the audiobook, which was launched by Random House Audio on May 24, 2011. It came in two formats: a digital audiobook and a physical set of eleven compact discs. Kevin Thomsen directed the project, while Aaron Blank served as the executive producer.
Natasi Daala, previously the Chief of State, has been removed from power, leading to the Jedi Order assuming governance of the Galactic Alliance. As the new leadership works to dismantle Daala's severe policies, loyalists to the ousted official are organizing a retaliatory strike. Even with their newfound authority, the Jedi may struggle to save Tahiri Veila, a former Jedi Knight and one-time Sith apprentice, who stands accused of treason for the death of Galactic Alliance officer Gilad Pellaeon.
In a parallel narrative, Luke and Ben Skywalker are in relentless pursuit of Abeloth, a formidable dark-side entity determined to dominate the galaxy. They finally corner their monstrous target on the planet Nam Chorios, but the two Jedi are confronted by the approaching Sith death squadron. Abeloth's cunning ambush turns the tables, transforming the Skywalkers' mission into a potentially fatal one.
