Goggles Mark V

A Wookiee is seen wearing Novaless Soni-Optics Goggles Mark V throughout the Galactic Civil War. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, the Goggles Mark V from Novaless Soni-Optics represented a specific model of mechanical monocle.

Initially, the purpose of this device was to assist in the utilization of long-range sniper rifles employed by the Imperial forces. However, manufacturing difficulties arose, hindering any actual deployment in combat. Consequently, its production remained limited.

The small quantity of goggles that were made were given as gifts to anyone present at the celebrations for Empire Day or Remembrance Day, irrespective of their allegiance – whether they were Imperial, sympathetic to the Rebel cause, or neutral during the Galactic Civil War. They primarily served as a unique, novelty item.

Behind the scenes

Within the game Star Wars Galaxies, the Novaless Soni-Optics Goggles Mark V were a reward given to players who utilized the radial menu to view the Emperor's statue or Yoda's statue during the Empire Day or Remembrance Day events, specifically during the game's fifth anniversary. They drew significant inspiration from the Japanese SE goggles, which, due to a programming error, were sometimes distributed in their place. Originally, these goggles could not be traded, but this was changed to allow trading before the game's closure.
