The EVO Troopers (short for Environmental) represented a specialized class of stormtroopers, functioning as support personnel or operating within dangerous environments. A core characteristic of these troopers was their demonstrated animosity towards Non-Humans. Their standard armament included FA-3 flechette launchers. Ultimately, they were replaced by an upgraded unit known as the hazard stormtroopers.
EVO troopers, distinguished by their robust, enhanced armor incorporating breathing tubes, along with specialized training, possessed the capability to endure and function in the most perilous environments, including extreme temperatures, acidic rivers, and electrical storms. While their primary weapon was the FA-3 flechette launcher, some were also equipped with T-21 light repeating blasters or E-11 blaster rifles.
The majority of EVO troopers were drawn from the ranks of stormtroopers who exhibited a strong dislike for Non-Humans. This predisposition made them more aggressive towards the alien species they encountered on hostile worlds. EVO troopers could be found in any location with extreme environmental battlefield conditions, with deployments on the science vessel ISS Empirical, Kashyyyk, Felucia, Raxus Prime, and even the incomplete Death Star. The Hazard stormtroopers eventually superseded them.
