The Ghost makes its way into an ion storm.
A naturally occurring electrical event in space was known as an ion storm. It was perilous to pilot a starship through an ion storm because the unpredictable nature of the lightning strikes made them difficult to avoid. In one instance, the group known as the Spectres attempted to evade an Imperial flotilla by flying into an ion storm. However, the rebel ship, referred to as the Ghost, suffered damage from a lightning strike that impacted its engines, targeting systems, and turbolasers. The rebels managed to repair the damaged systems just in the nick of time to shake off their pursuers.
