Katarr, a world located in the Mid Rim, served as a colony for the Miraluka. This planet was utterly destroyed around 3952 BBY, during the period known as the First Jedi Purge.
Situated within the Vensori sector of the Mid Rim, Katarr was the exclusive colony world of the Miraluka, a race of beings sensitive to the Force, who could only perceive the world through the Force. Despite its continents being predominantly mountainous, Katarr possessed a rich ecosystem of plants and animals, including various species of birds and trees. The Miraluka inhabitants of Katarr constructed their cities using a unique, circular architectural design.
In approximately 3952 BBY, all life on Katarr was consumed by Darth Nihilus, a Sith Lord. This attack targeted a gathering of Jedi that was taking place on the planet. Only one individual, a Miraluka named Visas Marr, survived the complete annihilation of the planet's population. Following the destruction of Malachor V, Visas returned to walk upon Katarr's desolate surface. While Nihilus's primary goal was to consume the Jedi, some theorized that the location of Katarr, approximately halfway between Onderon and Dantooine, two significant Republic worlds, suggested that the Sith aimed to obscure that region of the galaxy from the Force, potentially to facilitate the concealment of their movements from the Republic.
