The Guarlara was a Republic Navy vessel, specifically a Venator-class Star Destroyer, taking its name from the hooved animal found indigenously on Naboo.
In the final days of the Clone Wars, it was involved in the Battle of Coruscant.
During this engagement, the Guarlara exchanged turbolaser blasts and proton torpedo volleys at point-blank range with General Grievous's flagship, the Invisible Hand, which was a Separatist command ship. While both ships sustained significant damage, the Guarlara's concentrated broadsides ultimately led to the destruction of the Invisible Hand, causing the Separatist carrier/destroyer to plummet towards the surface of Coruscant.
Unintentionally, the actions of the Guarlara's crew jeopardized Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi's and Anakin Skywalker's mission to save Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who had been abducted by Grievous early in the conflict. Nevertheless, Kenobi and Skywalker, with assistance from Palpatine and R2-D2, successfully crash-landed the crippled Invisible Hand on Coruscant. This occurred due to a miscommunication, where the Guarlara's command misinterpreted a report, believing the Chancellor had already been rescued and evacuated from the Invisible Hand.
