Fire creepers were meat-eating, cave-dwelling bugs native to the planet of Nirauan. These creatures moved in huge groups throughout the cave systems. They consumed any living organism they encountered, with the Qom Jha and Qom Qae serving as their primary source of nutrition. During an incident where Builder With Vines and a number of other Qom Jha guided Mara Jade, Luke Skywalker, and their Qom Qae friend, Child Of Winds, into an Imperial base, they came under attack by fire creepers. While Mara, Luke, and Child Of Winds remained unharmed, the fire creepers caused the death of Builder With Vines. He had been flying above the swarm, catching numerous insects in his mouth each time he passed. He was consuming the fire creepers to impress Child Of Winds. However, Builder With Vines flew too near the swarm on one of his passes; he became trapped, was dragged to the cave floor, and was devoured.
