Firing cell

A crucial part of the Hoersch-Kessel ion drive was the firing cell. To achieve the best possible operation, these firing cells needed exact positioning relative to the engine intake. It was recommended that the firing cells be checked and adjusted regularly to maintain their alignment, because if they were misaligned, it could result in damage or complete failure of the drive system.
