Battle of Xa Fel (9 ABY)

In the waning moments of the Thrawn campaign of 9 ABY, a battle transpired on the planet of Xa Fel.

Following a thirty-hour engagement, the Imperial fleet, helmed by Grand Admiral Thrawn, decisively defeated the New Republic forces. To prevent a destructive planetary bombardment, the governing body of Xa Fel chose to surrender.

Following the New Republic's loss, Grand Admiral Thrawn departed the system in order to prepare for the Battle of Bilbringi. He put Captain Harbid in charge of deploying ground troops on Xa Fel and accepted the planet's capitulation.

As a result of the seizure of Xa Fel, the Empire gained dominion over the Kanchen sector.
