FLO

FLO, also designated as WA-7, was a unicycle-riding service droid that could be found in Dex's Diner located on the planet Coruscant.

Description

To maintain constant communication with the kitchen, she was equipped with an integrated order transmitter. She used a dual set of repulsor stabilizers to keep herself upright as she served patrons. She held a disdain for customers who left small tips, and was frequently observed engaging in flirtatious behavior with the dishwasher mechanism.

History

FLO in Dex's Diner.

FLO was in competition with the Human waitress Hermione Bagwa while they were both employed by Dexter Jettster.

In the year 18 BBY, after Dex was forced into hiding, FLO aided Curran Caladian and Keets Freely, who were members of "The Erased," in their escape from the holding area within the Galactic Senate. The droid delivered a blaster concealed within a pot of liquid, along with a pair of mugs and vegetable turnovers. When Keets took hold of the concealed blaster, FLO launched the serving tray at Zackery's head, which then allowed Keets to incapacitate him with the blaster's handle. The three then separated and successfully fled the Senate building.

Behind the scenes

The voice acting for both Bagwa and FLO in the film was performed by Susie Porter, who also played Hermione Bagwa, however in the final version of the script, only FLO was given any lines. The name FLO is a tribute to the character Florence "Flo" Castleberry from the 1970s sitcom Alice, which was inspired by the 1974 movie Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, directed by George Lucas' associate Martin Scorsese.

Additionally, FLO appears as a non-playable character in the video game LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game. She simply moves around the main room, and while she can be attacked, she possesses unlimited health.
