The Followers of Palawa were an age-old organization dedicated to the study of the Force and midi-chlorians. After the destruction of their homeworld, Palawa, in an ancient conflict involving the Jedi Council, they escaped to the Outer Rim planet of Bunduki.
To restrain the Jedi, likely to prevent the Jedi Council from causing another planetary destruction, the Followers of Palawa created the martial art known as Teräs Käsi. Furthermore, they achieved mastery over a deep trance technique, enabling them to enter a decades-long slumber without aging, accomplished by channeling the Force through meditative practices. During the First Great Schism, a number of Followers, including Arden Lyn, succumbed to the dark side and aligned themselves with the Legions of Lettow.
In the era after the Clone Wars, the Followers persisted as secluded individuals on Bunduki. During the initial decade of the Galactic Empire, the mother of Zan and Zu Pike entrusted her young daughters to their guardianship.
