Force Maelstrom, also referred to as Force Bombard, represented a catastrophic combination of the powers Protection bubble, Telekinesis, and Force lightning. The technique began with the user generating a Force Bubble surrounding their body, providing both concealment and defense. Subsequently, any nearby unanchored objects or individuals would be drawn into a telekinetic vortex around the bubble. Ultimately, the user would unleash a destructive blast, obliterating the objects with a concussive wave of energy coupled with a burst of Force lightning.
Darth Malgus demonstrated significant skill in employing this technique, utilizing it with devastating consequences against unsuspecting adversaries. Many years later, Darth Sidious achieved mastery over this ability, leveraging it as a foundational skill to attain proficiency in the significantly more potent Force storm later in his life. Individuals belonging to Emperor Palpatine's dark-robed Shadow Guard also wielded this power, as did the Sith apprentice Galen Marek.
Furthermore, it appeared as a skill available to characters with the Jedi profession within Star Wars Galaxies, manifesting as a cone-shaped blast of Force lightning emanating from the Jedi, inflicting damage upon all nearby targets. Force Maelstrom was a featured ability in the Wii edition of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and it also appeared within the Duel Mode of the PSP version.
