Force weapon

Force Weapon, in Legends, was a Force power that gave a Force user the capability to temporarily empower a non-powered weapon with the Force. By directing Force energy into the weapon, the user could significantly amplify its striking power and damage potential beyond what its physical appearance would indicate. An added advantage was the ability to use a Force-imbued weapon to defend against lightsabers without sustaining damage to the weapon itself.

The ancient Jedi from Tython may have been among the first to develop this technique, as evidenced by their Jedi Forge ritual. However, their specific method resulted in the permanent Force-imbued state of their katanas.

While most practitioners of this ability were found outside the formal structure of the Jedi Order, often originating from cultures and Force traditions considered less advanced, such as the Zeison Sha who employed it to strengthen their discblades, there were exceptions. For example, Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas famously employed this technique during his confrontation with Exar Kun, skillfully using his simple walking stick to defend against Kun's lightsaber attacks.

The Force-sensitive inhabitants of Felucia also demonstrated knowledge of this ability, using it to infuse their jawbone swords with the Force, thereby increasing their cutting effectiveness and enabling them to withstand lightsaber strikes.

Darth Vader and Starkiller possessed the capacity to imbue and charge their lightsabers with the Force. In Starkiller's particular case, his lightsaber could discharge Force lightning or Force Push energies, providing him with unpredictable and difficult-to-counter offensive options.

Behind the scenes

It is also plausible that Kreia utilized this power during her time alongside Meetra Surik. In Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a purple aura emanates from her severed hand whenever Kreia wields a two-handed weapon.
