Frequently referred to as an energy field, a force field was a diverse and encompassing term used to describe various types of fields. These fields, primarily artificial, involved the manipulation of matter or energy through the application of some kind of force.
Typically, artificial force fields were generated by a solitary device. Consequently, their influence usually extended over a specific radius, gradually diminishing until it became insignificant. The energy from the majority of force fields was also capable of being focused into a flat surface, essentially creating a protective "skin" enveloping an object, or into a concentrated beam or even a single point. However, achieving this level of precision generally necessitated more sophisticated and advanced technology. External disruptions could sometimes compromise force fields, for instance, through the utilization of a power gem.
