Frane

Frane was a Rutanian male who reigned as the King of Rutan. He was also the progenitor of both Leed and Taroon. A notable characteristic of his was a propensity for rapid shifts in mood and a short fuse.

To prevent conflict, the legal codes of both Rutan and Senali stipulated that the ruling monarchs of the planet and its moon were obligated to swap their eldest children at the age of seven. Following Leed's abduction by individuals working with Taroon, Frane initially held the Senali responsible, though his son was eventually saved. Subsequently, Qui-Gon Jinn, his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Leed journeyed to Rutan to engage in discussions with Frane regarding his son's permanent residence. Their mission then shifted to liberating Yaana, the daughter of King Meenon, from the oppressive rule of Frane. Upon locating Yaana, Frane refused to release her unless a Senali remained on Rutan, leading Drenna to offer herself. Ultimately, King Frane conceded to Leed's desire to remain on Senali and concurred with Taroon's designation as his heir and the future King of Rutan.
