Frayne was a Human woman of middle age, who worked for the Galactic Republic military as both a weapons researcher and a scientist. Her service took place in the years immediately preceding the Clone Wars.
Following the First Battle of Geonosis, Doctor Frayne, together with Jedi Knight Jyl Somtay, was sent to Geonosis with the objective of finding and securing any remaining weapons technology on the planet. The Republic sought to prevent the technology from ever being used against them. However, Doctor Frayne harbored her own secret intentions, as she was secretly a freelance agent aiming to pilfer the technology for her personal gain.
Using a basic trick, she knocked Somtay unconscious and subsequently captured the clone troopers who had traveled with them. She then attempted to flee alone, but she was not ready for the numerous traps set by the Geonosians. Somtay and Naj Pandoor came across Frayne's severed head in a concealed passage under the planet's surface. They later learned that a captured female nexu had been responsible for her death, though they were able to get away from the beast when it was attacked by rogas.
