Galalloy Industries, a corporation that developed and manufactured droids, had a history of service that goes all the way back to the era of the Galactic Republic. This company was the originator of the first real probe droids, which were designed to explore planets and asteroids to find precious resources like metals for industrial processing plants. These probots were instrumental in the Republic's expansion into the far, unexplored regions of the galaxy later on.
