Gelrood, a male Human pazaak player, made his living as a gambler on the Outer Rim planet of Taris during the time of the Jedi Civil War. Following a remarkable streak of fifteen consecutive victories at the Upper City Cantina, accusations of dishonest play were leveled against him. As a result, his so-called "lucky" deck was seized, and he was prohibited from entering the cantina, which led him to seek games at Javyar's Cantina in the Lower City. He maintained his innocence, asserting that his success was due to his superior abilities, thereby refuting any claims of cheating.
Gelrood is featured as a non-player character within the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was released in 2003 and created by BioWare.
Holdan, another NPC within the same game, uses the very same character model and attire as Gelrood, even though both characters are present in Javyars's Cantina at the same time.
