The General Good represented the core tenets of the Keganites' ideology before their integration into the Galactic Republic. This concept, established and upheld by the Benevolent Guides, namely V-Tan and O-Vieve, mandated that each Keganite devote themselves entirely to their planet. All actions were directed toward enhancing the General Good, which included the planet's near-total separation from the broader galaxy. V-Tan and O-Vieve instructed that acquiring outside technology or information posed a threat to the General Good.
Each individual within their society was valued equally, and everyone was regarded as part of a unified family. They believed every Keganite possessed a Guide Within, representing their spirit and vital energy, which linked them to the General Good. The General Good was only considered whole when every Guide Within was interconnected. To signify a Keganite's devotion to the General Good, they would prefix their given name with a letter—V for men and O for women—as a symbol of their allegiance. This prefix could only be omitted in private, and solely when two Keganites established a permanent bond.
