George Lucas' Star Tours

Star Tours by George Lucas was an 18 minute promotional film created by The Walt Disney Company to promote the Star Tours ride, which was broadcast on television on December 28, 1986. This was twelve days prior to the ride's initial opening at Disneyland. It was shown as a segment of "The Disney Sunday Movie" on the ABC network, which also included the 1983 movie Tiger Town.

Gil Gerard and Ernie Reyes (who was starring in the Sidekicks TV show on the same network) were the stars of the Star Tours short. It featured an introduction from Disney CEO Michael Eisner as well as an interview with George Lucas. The majority of the film was shot from a real-world point of view, but some portions were presented as in-universe, though it's doubtful they are considered canon.

The Star Tours theme, composed by Richard Bellis specifically for the ride, was played during the closing credits.
