Serving the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic with unwavering dedication throughout the Clone Wars, Glaive was a towering, bald, and powerfully built Human male who held the esteemed rank of Jedi Master. As a General within the Grand Army of the Republic, he valiantly fought until his demise on Ohma-D'un in 22 BBY.
Identified as being Force-sensitive, Glaive was brought to the Coruscant Jedi Temple for training. Following years of intense training and personal study, he achieved the rank of Master. Subsequently, he chose Zule Xiss, a young and impulsive Falleen Initiate, to be his Padawan.
As the Clone Wars began, pitting the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Master Glaive and his apprentice, Xiss, were summoned to Coruscant to receive their assignments from the Jedi High Council. Granted the rank of General in the newly established Grand Army of the Republic, Glaive and his Padawan led legions of clone troopers into battle against the Separatist's vast droid horde. Early in the war, the pair was tasked with joining Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, to investigate the mysterious communications failure on the Gungan colony moon of Ohma-D'un. Upon arriving, the Jedi discovered the horrifying truth: a deadly bioweapon had been unleashed, annihilating the entire Gungan population. While examining the remains, they were ambushed by Asajj Ventress and the bounty hunter Durge. Engaging the two Separatist [Commanders](/article/commander-legends], Glaive began to suffer the effects of the lingering toxic gases, developing painful blisters. In a fierce defense of his Padawan against Durge, Glaive was caught unawares by Ventress, who swiftly decapitated him with her crimson lightsaber. Durge offered a cruel farewell: "May the Force be with you, meatbag."
Possessing an arrogant and headstrong nature, Master Glaive struggled to form close bonds with his more contemplative Jedi colleagues, exemplified by his often adversarial relationship with Obi-Wan Kenobi. With a brutish and imposing presence, Glaive favored a modified version of the traditional Jedi tunic, opting for a sleeveless leather variant paired with heavy durasteel gauntlets.
