Sith Lord Naga Sadow, potential Dark Lord
The Golden Age of the Sith marked a time of considerable strength and equilibrium within the Old Sith Empire. Following the death of Marka Ragnos, a Dark Lord of the Sith of great power who had reigned for a century, a void in leadership emerged. Ludo Kressh and the composed and astute Naga Sadow, both Sith Lords, began to gather influence as they pursued the throne. Sadow's strategy for seizing power hinged on the unexpected arrival of hyperspace explorers Gav and Jori Daragon; after releasing Jori, whose actions would inadvertently guide the Sith to the Republic, Sadow incited the rest of the Empire to launch an assault on the Galactic Republic in order to stave off stagnation and decline.

However, the Great Hyperspace War did not proceed according to plan; the Republic, with assistance from Jori and the Jedi Order, demonstrated greater strength than the Sith anticipated. Despite Sadow's forces laying siege to Coruscant itself, the Republic, under the leadership of the Jedi and Empress Teta's forces, mounted a defense that drove back the invaders, ultimately forcing Sadow to retreat to Yavin 4. In the aftermath of its Golden Age, the Sith Empire ceased to exist.
A thousand years later, Exar Kun spearheaded his own effort to establish a Second Golden Age during the Great Sith War. Like Sadow before him, Kun was eventually defeated by the combined might of the Jedi and the Republic; he was then trapped within the monuments he had constructed for himself on Yavin 4 for almost four millennia before being defeated by the apprentices of Luke Skywalker's Jedi academy. The Muur Talisman originates from this period.
