Golm, alternatively called Bothawui Prime, existed as a planet within the Both system. This purple gas giant held the position of the fourth planet orbiting the star system and had 23 moons revolving around it, in addition to an asteroid belt.
During 22 BBY, a significant battle unfolded in the planet's orbit, pitting the forces of the Galactic Republic against those of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Following multiple intense encounters with a Separatist fleet commanded by General Grievous, a Republic naval task force reassembled in orbit around Bothawui Prime. They constituted the sole barrier preventing Grievous from reaching Bothawui itself. As Grievous's frigates moved rapidly to engage the Republic cruisers, concealed groups of AT-TE walkers, positioned on the asteroids within Bothawui Prime's rings, initiated an attack on the ships' vulnerable rears. This action dramatically changed the course of the battle, playing a key role in thwarting his assault on Bothawui.
The gas giant labeled as "Bothawui" in The Clone Wars: Season One underwent a retconned designation in The Essential Atlas, becoming known as Golm, identified as one of the two gas giants present in the Both system, and was assigned the alternative designation of Bothawui Prime.
