Gorug, a Gamorrean, functioned as a soldier aboard the Free Lance, a modified Nebulon-B frigate under the command of Urias Xhaxin.
Xhaxin frequently scolded him for harassing prisoners. In one instance, Gorug was choking Missa, a member of the House Indupar nobility, because he desired her jewelry as a gift for his matron. After being told to stop, Gorug dared Xhaxin to fight him, a challenge he had issued previously. Xhaxin allowed him to collide with the bulkhead wall, and after stunning him, he held a vibroblade to Gorug's throat, threatening to eject him through an airlock if he repeated the challenge.
