The supreme leader of both the planet Rodia and the Rodian species was known as the Grand Protector. It was expected that every Rodian would show loyalty and obedience to the Grand Protector. When the Galactic Empire was in power during its reign, the title of Grand Protector was given to a member from the Chattza clan. The Grand Protector, along with his clan, didn't have much influence in Betu, which is a continent located on Rodia.
