Grapple droideka

The grapple droideka, also referred to as the Melee Destroyer Droid, represents a preliminary iteration of the Trade Federation droideka. It was conceived as the definitive close-combat combatant and saw action during their Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY. A group of three served as guards for a Royal Naboo Security Forces pilot situated inside the Theed Royal Palace. While possessing enhanced durability compared to standard droidekas, the Melee Destroyer Droid was equipped with less powerful shields. The grapple droideka's (simply termed "droideka" in that era) main armament consisted of its dangerous mechanical claws. This version shared similarities with the P-series droidekas, which employed high-powered repeating blasters for more effective target elimination and were equipped with more robust deflector shield generators.
