Gravity-Activated Mode guided missile

The Gravity-Activated Mode guided missile, often called "GAM," represented a type of guided missile engineered by Merr-Sonn Munitions. It was specifically designed for deployment with their PLX-2M portable missile launcher. This missile featured two distinct tracking modes. The user could select between them by pressing a firing stud on the missile launcher. The first mode, EPR, targeted intense infrared emissions, such as the exhaust plumes of vehicles or other missiles. The second mode, from which the missile derives its name, is GAM mode. This mode initially tracks the target's outline until it gets close enough to lock onto the gravity-wave disturbances created by an operational repulsorlift. While the silhouette-tracking mechanism could be dodged through skillful movements or tricked by other objects in the sky, it was highly resistant to losing its target once it had achieved lock on a repulsor signature. The missile had a maximum range of forty kilometers before running out of fuel.

Besides the PLX-2, GAM missiles were also compatible with the PLX-4 Missile Launcher and the LX-80 anti-infantry missile platform. Their price was 600 credits.
