The most important deity for the S'kytri, the original species inhabiting Skye, was the Great Wind. The S'kytri held the conviction that their planet had been initially governed by monstrous and disordered beings, save for the skies above. As a result, the Great Wind mated with Canaitith Mountain, Skye's highest mountain, thereby conceiving the S'kytri with the purpose of vanquishing the wicked entities that held dominion over the world beneath.
The S'kytri were of the opinion that the Great Wind served as the source for all types of strength and might. Due to this, the mystical energy that the Jedi referred to as the Force was recognized by them as "the power of the Great Wind." During the era of the Clone Wars, S'kytri parents who gave birth to irregular offspring would, on occasion, present them as offerings to the Great Wind at Mount Krisklar.
