A Wookiee male named Grouaggerl existed in the early years of the Galactic Empire; his gender was male.
In Grouaggerl's infancy, he and his family found themselves marooned on a desolate world populated solely by perilous beasts. Despite the family's arduous fight for survival, their collective efforts allowed them to persevere, and Grouaggerl's adulthood marked their eventual rescue. Although Grouaggerl journeyed to Kashyyyk, the Wookiee homeworld, he experienced unease amidst its vibrant flora and consequently departed to forge his own path elsewhere.
Groaggerl intended to journey to Kashyyyk for his father's three-hundredth birthday, not long after the formation of the Galactic Empire. While traveling in his starship, called the Wasaka, he made a stop on the planet Daimar on his way to Kashyyyk, with the intention of trading his skills for some new components. However, Grouaggerl became stuck on the planet when the Empire started a blockade of Daimar. King Mitar of Daimar, foreseeing the planet's impending downfall, commanded that a selection of Daimar's key individuals escape to the planet Byrsym, where Mitar's offspring Torrin commanded a resistance group against the Empire, to avoid capture by Imperial forces. Groaggerl joined them, and they departed Daimar on the Wasaka. Having successfully broken through the blockade, their journey took them to Byrsym, where they located Torrin and integrated with his forces.
