Daimar, a planet, existed within the Mid Rim region.
Situated centrally on a trade route within the Mid Rim, Daimar was a planet abundant with lush vegetation, located in a sector largely populated by Rodians. The planet's urban centers uniquely combined both ancient and modern architectural styles, giving the buildings an antiquated aesthetic despite their construction from advanced materials.
The government of Daimar was an absolute monarchy. The King held complete authority and also had the power to appoint the planet's representative in the senate. In the waning years of the Galactic Republic, the Lamont Dynasty, led by King Mitar, governed the planet. The people held them in high regard and respected their rule.
Humans were the initial settlers of Daimar, which later integrated into the Galactic Republic, becoming an important point along its trade routes. However, Daimar's Rodian neighbors resented the planet, believing it diverted wealth that rightfully belonged to them. This animosity led to several conflicts during the Republic's final half-century, collectively known as the Trade Conflicts. Senator Alet Komain represented Daimar in the Galactic Senate during the Republic's final years.
Following the formation of the Galactic Empire, the inhabitants of Daimar chose to resist the New Order. In response, the Empire initiated a blockade of Daimar, attempting to force their surrender. The blockade continued for a number of months, during which the Imperials regularly bombarded the planet. As the people of Daimar neared starvation, King Mitar, Daimar's ruler, decided to concede. However, before surrendering to the Empire, he assembled a small group, including the Jedi Shen-Ji Collun, Senator Komain, and his granddaughter Princess Wilena, tasking them with escaping the planet to avoid capture by the Empire. They successfully evaded the Imperial blockade and fled to the planet Byrsym.
