Gurdun

Gurdun served as an official within the Galactic Empire, overseeing various technological initiatives during the final years of Palpatine's rule. His official title was Supervisor.

Biography

The initial project under Gurdun's supervision involved the development of sophisticated assassin droid prototypes at Holowan Laboratories. He personally secured the necessary funding by diverting resources from other military programs. The completed droids were intended to be delivered directly to him. However, the project failed when the four IG-88 prototypes, along with [IG-72], eliminated Chief Technician Loruss and almost everyone else at the facility before escaping. Upon arriving at Holowan Laboratories and witnessing the aftermath, Gurdun initially expressed outrage at the loss of assets, assets he deemed essential for his career advancement. Subsequently, recognizing the threat the droids posed, he issued an order to "dismantle on sight" all five IG units. Despite this directive, IG-88 achieved success as a bounty hunter.

Two months later, following the unsuccessful Imperial droid hunt, he received a new assignment. Darth Vader himself tasked Gurdun with ensuring the production of Viper probe droids needed for Vader's search for the Rebel base. Ironically, the droid factories on Mechis III responsible for producing the probe droids had already been seized by IG-88. Gurdun remained oblivious to this fact, even during a personal visit to Mechis III with Vader.

Subsequently, Gurdun received what would become his last assignment. With his former subordinate, Minor Relsted, assuming his previous role on Coruscant, Gurdun was assigned to manage the acquisition and transport of computer cores for the second Death Star. However, IG-88A hijacked the convoy transporting the computer cores, eliminated Gurdun's stormtrooper escort, and substituted the computer cores with a duplicate containing his own consciousness. Brought before the rogue droid, Gurdun pleaded for his life, emphasizing his critical financial contribution to IG-88's creation. The rogue droid paused, expressed gratitude, and departed. Gurdun was killed shortly thereafter when incendiary mines planted by the attackers on his crippled freighter detonated, resulting in its complete destruction.

Personality and traits

Gurdun was an obese Human who typically wore a uniform featuring broad, padded shoulders and a girdle to constrict his abdomen. He possessed a receding chin, dark hair styled with perfumed oils, and a prominent nose. Gurdun desired to undergo cosmetic surgery to alter his nose, but his financial situation prevented him from doing so.
