Halm, situated in the Mid Rim, was a dry world known as a desert planet. It was well-known due to its vast mining operations. These mines were the source of unique Adegan crystals, a critical component in the creation of lightsabers.
During the year 17 BBY, Halm became the target of an attack by the forces of the Galactic Empire. This assault was part of the Western Reaches Operation, a military effort aimed at eliminating remaining Separatist holdouts. Shea Hublin, an Imperial Ace, participated in this conflict.
Following the Battle of Hoth, the Empire launched a raid on a Gran mining settlement on Halm; however, Luke Skywalker intervened and saved them.
