The Heart Tree, also referred to as the World Tree Ch'hala, was a massive ch'hala tree that flourished on the planet of Cularin. It grew directly above the concealed location of the Eye of the Sun, a potent light side artifact hidden on Cularin not long after the New Sith Wars concluded. This Heart Tree served as a pivotal point within Cularin's interconnected web of ch'hala trees, holding immense sacred value for the Tarasin species. During the later years of the Clone Wars, the Wyrd—a collective of Tarasin Force-sensitive witches—launched an assault on the Heart Tree, with intentions of corrupting it to the dark side of the Force. However, Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk made the ultimate sacrificed to safeguard the ch'hala, resulting in his Force essence merging with the Heart Tree. Shortly after the Clone Wars ended, the Force-wielding criminal Len Markus journeyed to the Heart Tree armed with the Darkstaff, in hopes of uncovering the Eye of the Sun. Near the tree, he was confronted by the Heroes of Cularin, a band of independent operatives. Markus then used the Darkstaff to summon a contingent of Kilassin to battle the agents. In response, the Heart Tree itself summoned a larger Kilassin, which then engaged the smaller Kilassin in combat. Ultimately, the Heroes of Cularin were successful in defeating Len Markus and destroying the Darkstaff. The Tarasin, sensing through the Force that the threat to the Heart Tree had been neutralized, gathered around the tree and organized a celebration to honor the agents' heroic actions.
