Heff, a male Lepi, journeyed to Tatooine aboard one of the initial colony ships that populated the planet during the Galactic Empire's initial years. After arriving, he established and operated a business named Heff's Souvenirs alongside his daughter, Tebbi. Heff became one of only three original colonists from those early ships still living.
In the year 0 ABY, Jodo Kast, a bounty hunter, murdered Heff. He used a sennari-poisoned dart, shooting him in the neck. Kast was in pursuit of Adar Tallon, a Rebel sympathizer who had been concealing himself on the planet for numerous years. To prevent information leaks to rival hunters, Kast systematically eliminated anyone who might have been alive when Tallon arrived. Following his death, Tebbi, who was also a Rebel sympathizer, provided information to a group of Rebels who were also seeking Tallon. After some time, she sold Heff's Souvenirs to Moplin Jarron, a Sullustan.
In Tatooine Manhunt, Heff and his daughter were depicted as "rabbit-like alien[s]." The name "Heff" was subsequently utilized in the The Starhoppers of Aduba-3 article as an example of a Lepi name, thereby confirming his species.
