The Hellcaster cannon served as a repeating blaster cannon for anti-personnel purposes and was mounted on the Nemesis-class gunship. Despite its reputation for being very efficient at its designated task, the weapon's reliance on substantial quantities of heavy elements made its ammunition both costly and challenging to manufacture. Extended periods of firing the cannon showed that it could tear apart duracrete fortifications. In an attempt to eliminate a rogue clone derived from Galen Marek on Cato Neimoidia, two gunships employed both the Hellcaster cannon and concussion missiles in a coordinated assault. Ultimately, both gunships were unsuccessful and met their destruction at the hands of the clone.
