HX2 antipersonnel mine

The HX2 antipersonnel mine, a proximity mine manufactured by Conner Ship Systems, was regarded as an inexpensive, albeit obsolete, weapon by the era of the Clone Wars. Advanced Recon Commandos and assault battle droids frequently deployed these antipersonnel explosives during the Clone Wars, with occasional use during the Galactic Civil War.

The HX2 mine was designed as an octagonal, disc-shaped explosive device, easily hidden on the battlefield for use against personnel. It incorporated a detonite explosive charge, triggered by a proximity sensor. Both the battle droid forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the ARC Troopers of the Galactic Republic found the HX2 mine to be a useful weapon. During the Galactic Civil War, it saw action with commandos serving on both sides of the conflict.

Behind the scenes

The HX2 mine is featured in several LucasArts video games, in addition to the comic book Honor Bound.
