Hyperwind storms, alternatively called Utapaun whirlwinds, represented a form of meteorological phenomenon that had an impact on the terrain of the planet Utapau. There was a time in the planet's past when the storms were sufficiently gentle to allow the sentient Pau'an species to inhabit the surface; however, as the intensity of these storms increased, they compelled the Pau'ans to seek refuge within Utapau's sinkholes.
