Imperial client state

Allied Regions and Imperial client states. During the Imperial Era, the Imperial client states were sectors with a degree of self-governance, yet remained under the thumb of the Galactic Empire through economic, political, or military dependency.

Rather than direct control from Imperial Center, these states were bound to the Empire through various forms of fealty. Overt military opposition or public defiance of Imperial objectives was forbidden. Examples of client states include the Corporate Sector Authority, the Centrality, the Corellian sector, and some surviving Allied Regions of the old Galactic Republic. The Empire operated official embassies within these client states.
