Imperial Heavy Trooper

These troopers, typically large warriors, were equipped with unique stormtrooper armor and received specialized training for front-line engagements against formidable adversaries such as Trandoshans, Wookiees, and other similarly sized aliens.

While not commonly encountered, they were frequently positioned at the forefront of assaults, providing a protective screen for standard stormtroopers and other specialists employing ranged weaponry.

Given their focus on close-quarters combat, these troopers utilized large electro staffs when engaging enemies. These weapons could deliver incapacitating electrical discharges at medium range, proving lethal even against Force-sensitive individuals in close proximity.

The armor worn by these troopers offered a degree of protection against lightsaber attacks. Its design bore resemblance to Phase II clone trooper armor, though with a slightly darker color scheme. Backpacks were also standard issue for most heavy troopers.

On planets such as Felucia and the Wookiee home world of Kashyyyk, numerous heavy troopers saw deployment. On multiple occasions, a mysterious Force user engaged them in combat. Later, this same individual encountered heavy troopers at the Imperial Ore Facility on Raxus Prime and aboard the Death Star.

Despite their reinforced armor and electro staffs, the heavy troopers were ultimately unable to withstand Galen Marek's Force abilities, failing to impede his progress during any of his missions.

The designation "heavy stormtrooper" originated in Hasbro toy catalogues.

Variations of heavy stormtroopers have been observed with yellow markings on their arms and legs.
