During the period of the Galactic Civil War, recruitment officers could be found at various locations, including cities, military installations, and training camps, across numerous planets throughout the galaxy.
Beyond just their primary function of recruitment, Imperial recruiters also engaged in selling various provisions and pieces of equipment to members of the military, based on their individual rank. Furthermore, these recruiters were responsible for organizing and maintaining documentation related to Imperial military staff when they were granted leave.

Imperial Recruiters exist as Non-Player Characters (NPCs) inside the MMORPG titled Star Wars Galaxies, and players have the option to interact with them to become part of the Empire. Within the game's mechanics, they provide a selection of goods for purchase that is determined by the player's standing. Additionally, they have the ability to alter the player's faction alignment and provide updates on which faction controls a given planet.
