The Galactic Empire's Space Navy utilized Imperial Navy Recruitment as its recruitment arm (within Legends continuity). This organization was responsible for enlisting new personnel into the Space Navy.
During the Galactic Civil War, the Imperial Navy Recruitment office had the crucial role of enlisting volunteers to fight for the Imperial Navy against the Rebel Alliance.
As the conflict escalated following the Battle of Yavin, Admiral Cilas Veckon, who headed Imperial Navy Recruitment, launched a large-scale initiative to recruit pilots for the Imperial Starfighter Corps. His team sought out talented spacers across the galaxy, sending them persuasive recruitment communications. Despite the Empire's well-known anti-alien policy, all species were encouraged to apply. Admiral Veckon then assigned Commanders Gunham, Zhanks, and Landau to Tatooine, Corellia, and Naboo to oversee major recruitment efforts in those sectors. This recruitment drive culminated in 1 ABY, resulting in new pilots joining Black Epsilon, Storm Squadron, and the Imperial Inquisition's squadron. While the Imperial Navy recruitment program proved successful, the Rebellion and neutral factions soon implemented their own recruitment programs, which also achieved significant results.
Imperial Navy Recruitment was featured in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011. Imperial Navy Recruitment was introduced to the game with the Jump to Lightspeed expansion pack, which was released on October 27, 2004.
